Thanks for listening & keep feeding your curiosity!
Welcome to the Miko Love Podcast. I'm your host, Kameka Love. And when I'm not educating about personal finance as the budget mom, I'm here diving into the exploration of my own passions and exploring a range of captivating topics. It's time to dive into conversations that ignite curiosity and inspire. Welcome back to the Miko Love Podcast. I'm your host, Kameka Love. And today we are wrapping up an incredible journey, the first season. of this podcast. Now, when I first envisioned starting this show, I hoped it would be a space to explore passions and ignite different conversations, to do deep dives into topics that really matter, not just to me, but I hope all of us. Now, as we close season one, I am taking a moment to reflect on what I've learned as a new podcaster, kind of my favorite moments and what you can expect. when I return for season two, which will be in March. So let's just jump in. want to reflect on the last 20 episodes or season one. Now launching a podcast has been one of the most exciting and humbling experiences I've had in a really long time. I went from dreaming about what the Miko Love podcast could be to recording interviews, navigating technology, and really finding my voice. As a host, I learned so much, not just about podcasting, but myself in that process as well. One of the things that stands out to me is how every episode has been a conversation, not just with my guests, but with all of you who tune in. Now, hearing your feedback, you know, taking your questions, seeing your questions and takeaways has been probably the best part of this journey for me. It's a reminder. that this podcast is truly a community effort. And with just 20 episodes, the Miko Love Podcast achieved over 35,000 downloads. Now this milestone is something I'm incredibly proud of and deeply grateful for. Season one brought so many incredible conversations. And when I look back, there are two episodes that To stand out, I wouldn't say my personal favorites, but ones that really resonated with me. The first one was episode 19, which was just recently done on the podcast. It was a solo episode I did on invisible labor in the household. Now, this was one of the most important topics I think I tackled on season one. It's exploring the unseen and often unacknowledged work that keeps households running. Exploring the unseen and often unacknowledged work that keeps households running was eye-opening and relatable for so many of you. The response to this episode reminded me why these conversations matter. The messages I received from listeners sharing their own experiences with Invisible Labor was truly and deeply moving and reinforced the importance of shedding light on these types of issues. The other episode that I really enjoyed was the one right before that episode 18, investing for beginners. I loved diving into this topic with Jeremy demystifying investing and making it approachable for everyone has always been a passion of mine. And this episode felt kind of like a master class in breaking down those barriers. Now, many of you reached out to share how this episode gave you the confidence to take the first steps in investing, which is exactly why I wanted to do the episode. Now starting the Meekaluv podcast was not an easy decision. I was hesitant at first because it felt very off brand from what I'm known for as the budget mom. Now for years, my focus has been on finance and I've built this incredible community around that. But deep down, I knew I had so much more I wanted to share. This podcast gave me the opportunity to explore other subjects I'm passionate about, like personal growth, relationships, and really the intersection of different life experiences. It allowed me to show that a fulfilling and successful life often pertains to things beyond just money. I also started scared. I didn't have all the right equipment, and I certainly didn't feel ready. But I started anyway. That's been one of the biggest lessons for me. You don't need to be perfect to start. Chasing perfection will always hinder your ability to make progress. And I've really learned that in life with every single thing that I set out to tackle, all the different hobbies and skills that I wanna learn. You have to start somewhere. And many times when you're learning a new skill, you're starting at the beginning and that's okay. It's always about chasing the growth and learning for me in that journey. Now this podcast is really living proof that starting messy is better than not starting at all. Each episode taught me something new, whether it was about technology, storytelling, or connecting with an audience in a different and more personal way. I also want to take a second to talk about season 2, which is going to be kicking off in March. And I've gotten some incredible things planned. I'll be welcoming brand new guests and diving into topics that I know you're going to love without giving too much away. Expect conversations on topics like mental health, financial empowerment, and navigating those life transitions. Now, of course, I'll also be bringing back more solo episodes. These are some of my favorite moments where I get to connect directly with you and share insights really from my own journey, what's happening in my life. I've heard your feedback and I'm excited to bring you even more valuable and inspiring content with my solo episodes. Now, before I wrap up kind of this reflection on season one episode, I just wanna take a moment to thank you. Your support, whether through listening, sharing, subscribing, or reviewing the podcast means the world to me. Those reviews and subscriptions help this podcast grow and reach even more people. And I'm so grateful to each and every one of you who has taken the time to support the Miko Love podcast in these ways. You've made the first season everything I dreamed it could be and even more. I also want to thank my incredible guests for sharing their expertise, stories, and time. Each one of you has brought something unique to the table and I'm so grateful for your contributions on this podcast. Now, as we close this chapter of season one, I hope you found inspiration, motivation, and really fresh perspectives here on the MECO Love Podcast. Remember, the journey doesn't stop during this break. I'll still be active on social media. I'll be sharing updates and engaging with all of you. If you have any ideas for season two that you would like talked about, or different topics that may be that you're interested, don't hesitate to reach out.
